On Tuesday, May 17th, we will release a new version of the Quill platform to the QA environment. The production release will follow on Tuesday, June 1st. Both releases are scheduled around 09:00 AM and may involve a brief interruption.

What’s new in this release?

Quill v3.1 introduces targeted improvements focused on stability and preparation for future scalability. Specifically, this release includes:

General

• OIDC Login: Admin Fallback
  Admin users can now log in with traditional username/password credentials even when OIDC is enabled, ensuring secure fallback access.
  
• Upload and Merge Multiple Documents
  Enables users to upload multiple files and merge them into a single document for signing or approval, streamlining multi-document workflows.
  
• Page Preview Performance Enhancements
  General optimizations to improve the speed and performance of document page previews.
  
• Guest Key Expiry Configuration
  Allows organizations to define custom expiration settings for guest signing keys at both company and folder level, enhancing security management.
  
• Environment Differentiation: QA vs Production
  Introduces clear visual and functional distinctions between QA and production environments to prevent misconfigurations.
  
• Sealing Insights & Signature Package Visualization
  Displays data related to sealed documents and signature packages in the Quill insights dashboard for improved visibility and usage tracking.

Integration-Related Changes

• New V2 API with Updated Document Creation Flow
  A new, streamlined API (version 2) has been introduced, offering a leaner and more efficient document creation process for integrating systems.
  
• Cancel URL / Button Functionality
  End users can now cancel an operation and return to the integrating system without having to perform any signing or approval action. This improves flexibility and user experience in embedded flows.

Form Field Improvements

• Form Fields Overview
  Adds a clear overview of all form fields used within a document, making it easier to manage and configure document templates.
  
• New form field type 'selection list'.
  
• Auto-Adjusting and Matching Font Sizes
  Field fonts now automatically adjust to fit the available space, improving layout consistency and visual alignment across documents.

Important news

Action required for customers using IP whitelisting

With the release of Quill v3.1, new infrastructure components will be introduced to support future expansions and optimizations. As part of this update, additional IP addresses will be activated.

For customers using IP whitelisting, it is important to add these new IPs in a timely manner to ensure uninterrupted operation of API integrations and webhook functionality.
